Swimming Team

     50 meter breaststroke is the only stroke I did successfully the first time. While the swimmers in other lanes all finished, I was half way through my 50 meter freestyle, and I can feel myself getting slower and slower. My teammates start clapping for me and shouting my name, then the whole gym starts clapping. The only thought in my heart was I need to finish this 50m. I spend 1min 47sec finishing my first 50m freestyle! 

     My entire team was really proud of me because, two weeks ago, I can't even do freestyle.

Breaststroke, as the first stroke I successes, has been my favorite stroke and the stroke I'm best at for a long while.

I was fluent enough in freestyle, to be trusted by the team to join a relay. "Regardless where we rank, the only thing matters is that we complete this relay together."

"Bruins" is the name of my high school athletics teams. Everyone in this picture is wearing the Bruins cap. This was the time we were lucky enough to have all Bruins girls competing with each other. I'm the only one who has their arm out, because that's my first official diving. I use to jump into water in advance and start from the wall. MY first official dive is surprisingly smooth, so I was given the name, "Andie, the diver".

I always recognize team managers as an undividable part of a athletic team. Lilia, the Iranian girl on my right side in the picture, have helped me a lot in terms of building confidence on a area I'm not good at at the moment. We both joined parliament and swimming team in the same term. Her encouragement and companionship is what I value the most out of my high school years. 

Butterfly became my favorite stroke after I mastered it. It's defiantly the stroke that took me most of the time to learn.
